Augmented reality (AR) is changing the way we exchange information with each other. The technology behind AR is still in its infancy, but the term has been on everyone’s lips since Pokemon Go. In addition to educational work in the market, a lot of research also needs to be carried out on the technical side. The aim is always to find out what is possible and what is not. With the Apple AR Kit, which was launched at the end of 2017, we can use a good basis for testing AR in the mass market – Droppar.io is being created.
Droppar.io brings digital 3D models into the real world quickly and easily. In 3 simple steps, the user can upload a 3D model to droppar.io and download it to an AR-enabled device. A kind of virtual teleportation. Droppar.io combines the physical world with the incredible world of augmented reality – an in-house development in cooperation with netcetera. The app is still in prototype status and is constantly being developed further. It is currently available for the Microsoft Hololens and for AR Kit-capable devices and focuses on the BIM topic.
