The game was developed as a web app and runs directly in the browser or as a progressive web app – without any installation hurdles, but with maximum reach. The technical basis is the open-source game engine PlayCanvas, implemented by the game agency Gbanga. Bitforge has been supporting Swissmilk Planets since April 2024, continuously optimizing the game and developing new features.
In spring 2025, the game underwent a redesign, with Bitforge specifically revising the user flow. The result: more quiz questions answered, more frequent registrations, and increased participation in competitions – a clear boost for engagement and user experience.
Swissmilk Planets was promoted across various digital channels and reached a broad target audience. The game also attracted attention at festivals and gaming events such as Fantasy Basel and Polymanga Lausanne, where visitors competed against each other at specially designed arcade stations and collected points for competitions. MYI Agency was responsible for the event installations and also supported the Swissmilk and Ceres Media team in digital marketing.
