Yago: Bitforge launches augmented reality platform for eCommerce

Our new augmented reality platform for eCommerce is here! Yago significantly simplifies the creation, uploading and provision of 3D models in AR in online stores. We thus offer a simple and, above all, uncomplicated way for retailers to offer their products to customers in augmented reality. The product can be placed and inspected within your own four walls at the touch of a button. Will the TV fit on the dresser or the carpet in the bedroom match the color of the curtains? One click and the question is answered.

Uncomplicated and quick to AR functions

Augmented reality has a demonstrably positive effect on the conversion rate in online stores – and is perceived as very helpful by users. For 39% of Swiss people, AR even replaces a visit to the store. Until now, however, the implementation of AR functionalities has been too complicated, too complex and, above all, too expensive.

With Yago, Bitforge now provides an augmented reality platform that solves this problem: upload 3D product visualizations, copy the html code and paste it into the online store. The whole process takes no longer than embedding a YouTube video.

Creating AR models has never been so easy

However, not every company currently has AR-capable 3D models of its products. No problem – these can be ordered easily and conveniently via Yago. All we need is the link to the product page in the store with photos and dimensions. The photorealistic AR models are ready within a few days.

Device-independent functionality

The heart of the website is the AR button. It contains all of Yago’s intelligence – it recognizes whether the user is surfing the website with an AR-enabled device or not. If so, the camera with the product is automatically opened and the placement process begins. If it is not an AR-enabled device (e.g. a laptop), a QR code appears, which can then be easily scanned with a smartphone.

And that’s not all! The 3D models can be easily integrated into existing image galleries. In addition to the AR functionalities, customers have the opportunity to view the product from all sides in the image gallery.

We provide an analysis tool so that you can always see how and to what extent the AR models are being used by users. Everything is documented and summarized at a glance in the statistics center.

The 3D model can also be integrated into the product’s image gallery, as here with the log house from Jumbo.

A comprehensive solution

It has never been easier to expand your own online store with AR. With Yago, we offer a comprehensive solution for small stores and individual products through to entire product ranges – customized, uncomplicated and fast. A number of stores already rely on Yago, including Coop Bau & Hobby, Jumbo, melectronics, the feey plant store and KWC.

AR has now arrived in Switzerland, as the University of Lucerne’s AR Barometer 2021 confirms. Not only is it easier to decide for or against a product with a visual aid, but customers are demonstrably more satisfied with their purchase and are less likely to return products if they have previously been able to use the possibilities of augmented reality. “With Yago, there is finally an optimal and, above all, simple solution for AR in online stores,” says Arda, Project Owner at Bitforge.
