Only the coffee machine is complicated for us
Working with us is uncomplicated. Why? Short decision-making processes and a team that is personally involved. We manage projects with self-organized teams of specialists and therefore don’t need our project managers to act as a flow heater.

The Bitforge team consists of twenty people, more than half of whom are developers. For more than ten projects that we are currently managing, there are only around 100 full-time equivalents for project managers. Why don’t we need more?
This is partly due to the intrinsic motivation of our entire team. We only make products and projects that we are convinced make sense. Everyone pulls together and wants to deliver the best possible product. To achieve this, we bring together everyone who can contribute to the success of a project – without hierarchy or unnecessary structural organization.
Open and honest communication
Our developers work independently and also think for themselves when critical questions arise. They are involved in project meetings and can contribute their expertise directly. This means that everyone is informed about the current status at all times and no long communication channels are necessary.
We encourage critical questions and new ideas and this has nothing but advantages. Everyone thinks along with us and there is no fear of addressing things and speaking one’s mind. We live these principles internally with our teams, which in turn ensures equal transparency in our communication with our customers. Nothing is glossed over or toned down by the project management, rephrased or wrapped in absorbent cotton (whether from our team to the customer or vice versa).
Courage to address issues and break down hierarchies
This also requires courage, as the path to an ideal digital product is rarely linear. It often happens that new findings require corresponding adjustments or flexible solutions. “In every project, challenges, new findings or ideas arise that could lead to problems,” says Robin Waibel, Managing Partner at Bitforge. “The promise of our team is that we always address problems openly, but at the same time always communicate appropriate solutions.”
This combination of openness, independence and creativity ensures that our project managers hardly need any management. On the contrary, they can focus on the further development of the project in collaboration with the customer. They are the direct point of contact and hold all the strings in their hands to set priorities, manage task lists and backlogs and maintain an overview where necessary. They also clear impediments out of the way and have everyone’s back so that they can carry out their work as efficiently as possible.

Direct feedback instead of "beating around the bush"
Feedback from our customers does not have to go through an intermediary, but can be submitted directly to our team of developers. Needs from our implementation team in turn go directly to those responsible on the customer side. In this way, we keep everything short, crisp and efficient – which is reflected in the cost of effort.
“We want as little distance from our clients as possible,” says Rami al Beati, Head of Business Development at Bitforge. “Only then will the result be right for both sides.” This is also confirmed by our previous customers, such as the team around BENEVITA from Swica.
Things only get complicated for us when it comes to coffee – that’s no joke. We are currently testing a new machine so that everyone in the team is happy with it.
